To celebrate Lavender Season with Mt. Shasta Lavender Farm we are going to be open daily  11 to 4, starting June 16, that will continue thru their season ending July 18.  Our regular hours will resume on July 21, Wednesday thru Saturday 11 to 4.  We hope to add to the pleasure of the trip to the farm, by having lunch for you, coming or going.  It is always fun to use the lavender in our scones and cooking during this time and have big fragrant bouquets in the tearoom. Snow

March 3rd, 2010

Today we woke up to a winter wonderland, that lasted a couple of hours!  So as I unpacked our new tea order, I brewed a big pot of our new caramel black tea… who needs dessert with a flavor like that?  I’ve been sipping on it all day, just adding a little tea and hot water.. so good.  We also got some new teapots in, mojito green, blue, and red.  They are the plain colored ones that are perfect for every day use.  Plan on joining us for St. Patrick’s Day,  it’s Patricia’s special day, as she claims she’s Irish and she has a special menu planned for you.  Don’t forget to sign up early for Mother’s Day this year, we are having our very special Queen’s Tea for the Queen in your life and we are having  beautiful music with a string quartet.  Hope to see you soon. We’re Back!

February 4th, 2010

A new year and new beginnings.  I had a wonderful trip to Hawaii, while Patricia and Nancy cleaned and rearranged for the new year.  Do I feel guilty?, well a bit….but I’d do it again if given the chance!  I was able to visit a tea plantation while on the Big Island of  Hawaii and actually observe them harvesting green tea, then have tea and sample some of their single estate teas.  What fun!….  New for this year is our healthy choice menu, with reduced calories, healthy fats and delicious.     This Sat. we’re doing a booth for the Wedding Show in Yreka. Should be fun!  Hope to see you soon for a spot of tea!  Ms Lynn

Welcome to Ms. Lynn’s idea of joining the rest of the world

January 11th, 2010

Today we are cleaning the tearoom and the wind is howling outside, so sitting down with a good cup of hot maple tea and taking a break is wonderful. I’m excited about my new Blendtec blender and it will make a “hot” raw soup that is delicious, so I’ll pass it on, so easy too.

  • 2 cups of hot water
  • 1 Roma tomato -cut in half
  • 1 rib of celery -cut in half
  • 1 carrot -cut in half
  • 1Tbs. taco seasoning
  • 1 small slice of Jalapeno pepper
  • 3 sprigs of cilantro
  • 1 clove garlic
  • 1 small sweet onion cut in half
  • 1 tsp. vegi. or chicken boullion

Directions: Place above ingredients into blender jar and secure lid. press Soup button.  Add: one half cup tortilla chips and pulse 3 X

Enjoy! CL
